Each school year, BCRW awards a $500 scholarship in honor of Doris Holke, a past president of Benton County Republican Women and also the Arkansas Federation of Republican Women. She served on the Benton County Election Commission and worked tirelessly promoting women’s involvement in the Republican Party. The scholarship is open to any public, charter, private, or home-school student.
To qualify, a student must meet the following criteria:
- Female high school senior.
- United States citizen and resident of Benton County, Arkansas.
- Accepted to an accredited two-year or four-year institution.
- Have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
Applicants must write an essay on this topic:
In approximately 250 words, tell about one person who has strongly influenced your acceptance of Republican principles. Because of this person’s influence, what is one of your most cherished principles?
Scholarship application information will be sent to school counselors near the beginning of every school year.
